Oswin Appollis is relieved Bafana Bafana earned their maiden three points against Angola in their opening match of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Appollis’ relief is based on the fact that the national side can now be able to focus on their next games without much of a hassle.

He netted the fisrt goal in the 2-1 win over the Palancas Negras.

"We managed to get the three points and that's the most important," he said after the game at the Stade de Marrakesh in Morocco.

"At training, the guys have been working really hard, so it doesn't matter who coach calls on because everyone is top quality and ready to go."

Appollis also spoke glowingly about the game he played against Democratic Republic of Congo two years ago as one which shaped his international career.

“Getting those few minutes helped me, I felt the level at that time and it has not changed, it's very tough you know,” he added.

Bafana next face Egypt who beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in the other Group B match in Agadir on Thursday.
