Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo: Hugo Broos is getting his tactics right for South Africa and it was evident against Angola
Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo commends Hugo Broos’ tactical masterclass in South Africa’s 2-1 win over Angola in their opening Africa Cup of Nations opening match.
Khumalo, Afcon winner with Bafana in 1996, said the coach got it right on the night in Morocco with his tactical changes and approach against Angola.
“Look at that ball, played to Moremi then back to him and he scores the final goal and a goal we had all been expecting. So I think coach now 100% he is proving it that he knows the kind of players that he has,” he said on SABC.
“Even I was saying at least bring on Makgopa because you know he can give us like off the ball run and all of that, tracking back and also dead ball situations.
“But he kept Foster and I know probably he’s saying no man I still have two games to play. Now, if I throw everyone in there they’ll analyse us and find us out quickly. So let me rather allow this one to finish the game.
“And he has said it before that in this game you need luck and that’s what we got.”
Bafana face Egypt on Christmas Day in Agadir.
