Angola coach Patrice Beaumelle: We lost against Bafana Bafana who are one of the top teams in Africa even though we gave a good account of ourselves
Patrice Beaumelle is disappointed Angola dropped points against Bafana Bafana.
The Frenchman said he is highly disappointed because winning the first game in a tournament like the Africa Cup of Nations is key.
Angola lost 2-1 to Hugo Broos’ Bafana at the Stade de Marrakesh in Morocco in what was an evenly matches encounter in Group B.
“Obviously, we are a bit sad because we lost the first game and when you start a competition, it’s always important to start with points,” Beaumelle said after the game.
“But facing a top team in Africa, I think we did a good game when we play such a team. We made two mistakes and then we played catch up.
“The first goal we get back, and we try to contain. We tried to apply the plan that we prepared during all weeks but finally we made another mistakes.
“Congratulations for Bafana Bafana and we just have to keep your heads up because we still have two games to go.”
