Serbia national team leader ends international career amid row with team coach

111 matches, 23 goals and almost 16 years in the Serbian national team - these are the results in the national team for winger Dusan Tadic, who today announced the end of his international career.
The 35-year-old Fenerbahce player himself announced this on his Instagram:
"I have made the decision to say goodbye to the Serbian national team shirt. Whether I will be able to be useful in the future - let the profession, the public or whoever feels invited to discuss it and considers themselves part of the football environment judge.
No club failure can hurt as much as failure in the national team, but also no club success can bring as much joy as success in a Serbian shirt. It was with great pleasure that I fought and defended the national team crest. Both off the pitch and on it."
At the same time, Tadic emphasises that the decision was not related to the conflict with Serbian team manager Dragan Stojkovic, which took place during the European Championship:
"I stand by the views I have expressed. I emphasise that I had no intention to offend my teammates or anyone else who was part of the Serbian team in Germany, so I have a need to explain some things about which I know there was a dispute last time."
