The world of women's football has been shaken by a monstrous scandal erupting around Czech club Slovácko.
Details: Head coach Petr Vlahovský secretly filmed his players in the locker room with a hidden camera over a period of four years. One of the victims was just 17 years old when the recordings began.
To carry out his scheme, Vlahovský used a mini camera cleverly concealed in a backpack, which he would leave in the women's locker room. Despite the scale of the crime and the extended period over which it was committed, the court handed down a surprisingly lenient sentence: the coach received just one year of suspended imprisonment.
At present, Vlahovský is banned from coaching only within the Czech Republic, and for a period of just five years. Legally, this means he is allowed to continue his career in any other country as soon as the verdict takes effect.
The international federation of professional footballers' associations (FIFPRO) has already issued a scathing statement. The organization is calling on the Football Association of the Czech Republic to immediately review the case and impose a lifetime ban on Petr Vlahovský from all football-related activities worldwide.
