The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia aims to unify the ATP and WTA tours, as reported by The Telegraph.

It is known that the PIF is offering one billion dollars for this unification. Additionally, they have set a 90-day deadline for a decision to be made. Andrea Gaudenzi is being considered for the position of Chairman of the unified Tour.

Sources suggest that such news may further strain relations between the two tours and the four Grand Slam tournaments, especially after the Chief Financial Officer of the United States Tennis Association, Lew Sherr, insisted that the heads of the ATP and WTA should be invited to Premium Tour meetings.

It is worth noting that currently, the Grand Slam tournaments will not be part of this proposal from the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.

Incidentally, an incredible upset occurred in the round of 16 match of the Indian Wells Masters series tournament. The world's number one player, Novak Djokovic, lost in three sets to 20-year-old Italian, Luca Nardi, who is ranked only 123rd in the world.
