Ryan Garcia faces lawsuit. What happened?

American lightweight of Mexican descent, Ryan Garcia, has found himself in a tricky situation. This time, the boxer is facing a court case for breach of contract concerning a fight in Japan.
FANMIO, a company known for organizing exhibition matches, stated that Garcia was scheduled to fight Rukiya Anpo in Japan last New Year's Eve, but the match was called off supposedly due to a hand injury. Meanwhile, a fight is scheduled against Rolando Romero on May 2.
"Despite receiving payment and actively preparing for the event, FANMIO was deceived into organizing an event in which Ryan never intended to participate," the organization stated.
"Additionally, Golden Boy Promotions actively worked to sabotage the event.
FANMIO was confident that this event would be a great success. FANMIO's actions reflected their confidence in the time and money invested in promotion.
Despite Ryan's exclusivity for this event, he plans to fight on May 2 at Times Square, disregarding his contractual obligations.
The judicial system will take up the case, and FANMIO intends to seek damages. Unscrupulous business practices will never be tolerated."
It's worth noting that FANMIO regularly organizes exhibition fights. In 2021, the company was behind the Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout.
