PSL side Sekhukhune United are keen on former Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebogang Phiri as they aim to replace Miguel Timm in this transfer window
Lebogang Phiri is closing in on a move to the Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United.
Phiri has been club-less for some time with rumours linking him to Kaizer Chiefs but that move never materialised.
The 31-year-old spent much of his playing career in Europe, particularly in France, featured for Babina Noko recently in a friendly game.
In France, Phiri played for Paris FC and left EA Guingamp a year ago and has not been playing at a high level since then.
His arrival Sekhukhune United is seen as replacement for departed midfielder Miguel Timm, who left last week for National First Division side Cape Town City.
Phiri has six caps for Bafana Bafana nad perhaps, a move back home is to impress the national team coach ahead of the World Cup tournament in USA, Canada and Mexico in June.
It remains to be seen how far his negotiations with Babina Noko will take as the side are third on the PSL table with three points separating them from table toppers Orlando Pirates.
So far in this window, Sekhukhune have signed Lehlohonolo Mojela and Ivorian born winger Amede Tidiane Diomande.
