Portugal and Slovenia will meet on the evening of 1 July to determine who will qualify for the UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

Roberto Martinez's side were close to 100 per cent in the group, having secured their passage to the 1/8 finals two rounds before the end, but in their last round match against Georgia they let their guard down and lost 0-2. Still, they came out of the group in first place.

Slovenia was part of the "group of shame" together with England, Denmark and Serbia. Matjaž Kek's wards did not win a single match, as well as did not lose, and from the third place went into the play-offs, displacing Hungary in the ranking of the best teams.

If we talk about the squads, the reason for the defeat against Georgia was also a significant rotation of the squad. Only Diogo Costa, João Palinha and Cristiano Ronaldo played against the Kartveli, but all of them will also play in the match against Slovenia.

So will Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo and Vitinha, who have been given some rest and are ready to burst into the play-off stage with renewed vigour.

Five Portuguese players will miss the quarter-finals if they are cautioned again: Ronaldo, Francisco Conceição, Joao Palinha, Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves.

Slovenia, meanwhile, will be without Jaka Bijol, Jan Selar, Petar Stojanovic and Jean Vipotnik in the next round if any of that quartet receive another yellow card.

They will rely on former Primera Liga star András Šporar and the promising Benjamin Šeško to once again lead their offensive line - the pair have started all three games but have yet to score a single goal from 12 shots combined.

Experienced coach Matjaž Kek tends to favour an unserious 4-4-2 formation, with Timi Max Elsnik and Adam Gnezda Cerin playing in midfield.

Now that Sturm midfielder Tomi Horvat has returned to Germany after the birth of his daughter, Keck's only change may be replacing Jure Balkovac with left-back Erik Janja.

Focusing on these factors, the Dailysports team has prepared for you predicted line-ups for the Portugal vs Slovenia match.
