The Spanish publication Sport.es has unveiled images depicting the potential upgrade of the Montilivi stadium, home to the Spanish football club Girona.
However, supporters of the red-and-white will have to exercise patience, as the primary renovations to the stadium will not commence until the 2028/29 campaign. During this period, the reconstruction of the stands and the replacement of the asbestos roof will be addressed with investments anticipated to exceed fifteen million.
Additionally, the pitch will undergo an overhaul (an additional investment of 349,300 euros).
From this juncture onward, the principal reforms will not cease. In the subsequent season, 2029/30, Girona plans to embark on the reconstruction of the northern goal stands, incurring a cost of 7,151,616 euros. The 2029/30 season will witness further updates (6,972,826 euros), and in the 2032/33 campaign, Girona will undertake the remodeling of the southern goal stands with additional investments totaling 4,767,744 euros. Rounding up the figures, specifications outline that from 2028 to 2033, all stands, goal areas, and privileged sections will be revamped, necessitating an expenditure of approximately 34 million euros.
The project also emphasizes the construction of commercial space in 2033, and by the end of 2038/39, the entire stadium will be covered. The concession stipulates that the club must invest a total of 198 million euros in Montilivi over the entire duration leading to the complete upgrade.
Earlier, Girona's coach, Michel, provided an overview of the year 2023 for his team.
