The Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner was presented with the trophy for the world's top-ranked player. He received this prestigious award from the ATP President Andrea Gaudenzi.
The ceremonial event took place at the tennis club hosting the Monte-Carlo Masters.
Sinner ascended to the top of the ATP rankings after Novak Djokovic withdrew from the French Open due to injury. He became the first Italian in history to achieve such a feat.
In the current season, Sinner triumphed at the Australian Open, as well as at the Miami Masters and the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam. At the French Open, the Italian halted his campaign in the semifinals, conceding to the eventual tournament champion Carlos Alcaraz.
It's worth noting that Alcaraz clinched his maiden French Open title, marking a unique milestone in tennis history.
