“We have to win,” says Emerse Faé, speaking about Ivory Coast’s clash with Norway

The Ivorian manager wants to take the Elephants as far as possible at the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Ivory Coast will face Norway this Tuesday, 30 June at 5 pm GMT. It is a crucial match for the Ivorian side, who are keen to make their mark on the world stage. And only a win can help them achieve this goal, as Emerse Faé emphasised at a pre-match press conference.

“There is no ideal scenario. We have to win to qualify, however we do it, because this is a knockout match. We are really pleased with how the African teams have performed in the first round. We hope that the eight teams still in the running will make it through to the round of 32. But, naturally, above all I hope that Ivory Coast goes as far as possible amongst all these teams.”
