Mohamed Ouahbi Insists Morocco Fully Deserved Victory Over the Netherlands
Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi believes his side were worthy winners after eliminating the Netherlands in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Atlas Lions produced a spirited performance to book their place in the Round of 16, with Ouahbi praising his players for controlling the contest from start to finish despite the drama that unfolded.
Speaking after the match, the Morocco coach highlighted his team's dominance in possession and attacking play, insisting the result reflected their overall display.
“It is a fully deserved victory in every sense of the word. I think we completely controlled the match.
“I don’t think they are used to playing with only 30% possession, while we reached 70%. We created far more chances and had many more shots.”
