Oswin Appollis: Tylon Smith and Shandre Campbell must be patient and wait for their Bafana Bafana moment like I did at previous Africa Cup of Nations
Tylon Smith and Shandre Campbell should forget about getting game time at the Africa Cup of Nations with Bafana Bafana.
The duo ought to know that as much as they are part of Hugo Broos’ squad, they are not going to play a major role at the 35th edition of Africa’s premium international competition.
This is how Bafana midfielder dynamo Oswin Appollis seeks to make the pair to understand.
Appollis said this was how he also mad way into being a Bafana regular as he was part of the squad in the previous tournament in Ivory Coast but did not play a major role as Bafana finished third in that tournament.
“Obviously going to AFCON at that time in 2023, you know sitting on the bench always wanting to play,” Appollis said of the two youngsters called by Broos to the Bafana squad.
“And my advice to Shandre and Smith is that they will get their opportunity just have to be patient. “When I got my minutes I was super happy because it’s also one of the big tournaments in Africa.”
