Orlando Pirates give Nkosinathi Sibisi a new two-year contract!

Orlando reportedly wants to secure the presence of one of their star defenders with a two-year contract extension for Nkosinathi Sibisi.
The outstanding defender was part of the team that competed for every possible championship in the 2024-2025 season, which is now coming to an end.
While the team was plagued by injuries in the backline, Sibisi was one of the hearts that formed a duo with Thabiso Sesane, Olisa Ndah, Tapelo Xoki, and Mbekezeli Mbokazi throughout the season.
The Buccaneers face a transitional period after Spanish mentor Jose Riveiro's abrupt departure, cutting short what had been a trophy-laden tenure at the Soweto club. During his time at Pirates, Riveiro masterminded an impressive haul of three consecutive MTN8 triumphs and two Nedbank Cup victories - successes that now heighten the challenge for his successor.
Contrary to expectations of seeing out his contract until its June expiration, the tactician negotiated an early release amid strong links to Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly. This surprise development has forced the Sea Robbers to accelerate their rebuilding plans, with sweeping changes anticipated across the squad.
While the technical team searches for Riveiro's replacement, the club has already begun reshaping its roster. Reliable sources confirm the acquisitions of defender Nkosikhona Ndaba from Richards Bay and versatile attacker Masindi Nemtajela from Marumo Gallants - the first of what promises to be several off-season moves.
The Ghosts now face the dual challenge of replacing a proven winner in the dugout while integrating fresh talent, all while maintaining the standards set during Riveiro's successful spell. With preseason preparations looming, the coming weeks will prove crucial in determining whether Pirates can build on their recent triumphs or face a period of transition.
