No comment! Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has put his weight fully behind Africa Cup of Nations referees amid controversial penalty given to Egypt
Hossam Hassan has distanced himself from commenting on match officials following Egypt’s 1-0 win over South Africa.
The Egyptian legend and coach said he trust’s the officials as he does not interfere in their work.
Hassam was speaking after The Pharaohs scored from a VAR penalty call via Mohamed Salah spot-kick as it left South African coach Hugo Broos livid at the decision.
"No comment on the referees' decisions. I trust the continent's and the tournament's referees, and I do not interfere in their decisions," he said, as per Ysscores.
“I thank the Egyptian, Moroccan, and Arab fans for their support, and I also thank the players for their effort in today's game," Hassan said,.
"We succeeded in securing three points against a strong team, South Africa, and the true quality of the Egyptian player shines through in difficult times."
"My goal is to make the Egyptian people happy, and football is a source of joy for the Egyptian citizen. I play every match as if it were a cup final, and African football has become strong because of professionalism."
