Khuliso Mudau has admitted he does not agree with VAR officials that his tussle with Mohamed Salah warranted a penalty.

Mudau, in South Africa-Egypt game, was deemed to have won the ball against Salah illegally which saw the VAR call for a penalty for Egypt.

Salah stepped to score in the 1-0 victory for The Pharaohs.

The Mamelodi Sundowns defender said he disagreed with the officials.

"I didn't check but I will, I didn't think it's a penalty in my own opinion," Mudau told SABC Sport.

"The referee gave it and there's nothing we can do. We just have to focus on the next one."

The Mamelodi Sundowns full-back says luck evaded them on the day, but there were positives to take from the defeat.

"We didn't have luck. We did everything, we wanted to score but unfortunately we couldn't score but as I said we have to focus on the next one, which is Zimbabwe on Monday" he added.

On Monday, Bafana face Zimbabwe in their last group B match, where a draw will be suffice to see them qualify for the knockout stages.

Mudau said they need to sharpen their finishing touches up to ensure victory against Zimbabwe.

"Yeah, very positive. I think everyone was willing to help the team and I think we have to make sure that we win the next one for us to go through," he said.

“We missed a lot of chances to be honest. I think if we score and take our chances then we will improve as a team and we will make sure the next game, everything is ok.”
