Mbekezeli Mbokazi: Bafana Bafana defender calls his team-mates to forget about the Egyptian result and focus on the next game against Zimbabwe
Mbekezeli Mbokazi has called his Bafana Bafana team-mates to accept their 1-0 loss to Egypt and channel their energy in their next game against Zimbabwe.
Bafana lost to The Pharaohs by an odd goal in Agadir’s State de Adra after VAR penalty following a tussle between Mohamed Salah and Khuliso Mudau.
The Bafana defender was penalised for the spot-kick which saw Salah convert with ease late in the first half.
Bafana had their own penalty call in the second stanza but the VAR denied that opportunity as Egyptian defender handled the ball inside the box.
“Yeah we also hoped that it was a penalty but we don’t know how the referee’s decided not to give the penalty, nonetheless we will have to accept their decision and move on to the next match and make sure that we win it,” Mbokazi said.
“We have to move on from the referee’s decision, what happened has happened, we can’t cry over spilled milk, we just have to fight in our next game and get a positive result.”
