Nahuel Guzmán Open to Stay at Tigres, Talks Renewal and Pizarro’s New Role

Tigres goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán has made it clear he wants to continue with the club beyond the summer, when his current contract expires. The 38-year-old veteran confirmed that renewal talks have been ongoing for months, unrelated to Guido Pizarro's recent appointment as head coach, reports Mediotiempo.
Guzmán stated: “I want to stay at Tigres. Right now, I can’t see myself at any other club, at least not in Mexico. We’ve been talking for months, and both sides want to continue.”
On Pizarro’s transition from captain to manager, Guzmán said he fully supports the move. “I’ve known him for over a decade. I saw how tough it was for him to keep playing. I was the first to understand his decision, and he’s more committed than ever.”
The Argentine keeper also reflected on the 29th anniversary of Tigres’ 1996 relegation: “It’s part of our history and growth. A reminder of resilience. We have to remember it to truly value where we are today.”
Tigres return to action on March 29 against Club América after the international break.
