Morocco national team striker Hamza Igamane suffered a serious injury in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.

Details: The Lille and Morocco striker came on in the 98th minute, but was forced to leave the pitch just eight minutes later in the 106th minute due to a knee injury. Subsequent medical examination confirmed a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

At the post-match press conference, Morocco head coach Walid Regragui commented on the situation, stating that the player's recovery could take around six months.

"Unfortunately, Igamane has torn his cruciate ligaments. He could be out for about six months... poor guy. I wish him a speedy recovery," said Regragui.

It is worth noting that the match ended with a narrow 1-0 victory for Senegal. The only goal of the game was scored by Pape Gueye.

Reminder: Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw is set to be suspended following his actions in the AFCON final.
