Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw set for suspension after actions in Africa Cup of Nations final
Yesterday's actions by Senegal's head coach will not go unnoticed.
Details: According to journalist Romain Molina, Senegal national team head coach Pape Thiaw will be sanctioned by the CAF Disciplinary Committee. However, it is not yet clear how long his suspension will last.
The sanctions stem from events during yesterday's Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco. During the match, Thiaw, in protest against controversial refereeing decisions, ordered his team to leave the pitch, sparking a major scandal and halting the game.
It is worth noting that despite the tense situation and interruption, Senegal returned to the pitch, managed to score the winning goal in extra time, and clinched a 1-0 victory to secure the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
Reminder: Moroccan players tried to steal the towel of Senegalese goalkeeper Ferland Mendy.
