Mohamed Salah penalty was the difference against South Africa today in Africa Cup of Nations Group B match.

The Liverpool striker netted late in the first half as the VAR called for a penalty after Bafana Bafana defender Khuliso Mudau clashed with the striker inside the 18-yards box.

Initially, the referee did not call for a spot-kick but after a call from the VAR booth he went on to investigate and ultimately ruled in favour of an Egyptian penalty.

Salah dusted himself off to score a cheeky penalty against Ronwen Williams in the Bafana goalposts.

This victory sees The Pharaohs qualify for the group stages of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations as they have accumulated six points from their two games.

Bafana, meanwhile, will need to ensure they beat Zimbabwe in their last group match to ensure they go into the knockout stages.
