Milestone! Hugo Broos reaches his 50th game for Bafana Bafana when Angola tomorrow in their opening Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco
Hugo Broos is officially South Africa’s longest serving coach.
When the Belgian gaffer sits on the bench tomorrow against Angola at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, it will mark as Broos’ 50th game as a Bafana Bafana coach.
The game starts at 7pm.
Bafana face the Palancas Negras in their opening group match having won 24, lost six and drawn 19 of his previous 49 matches for the South African side.
He took over Bafana Bafana in May 2021 and has seen them reach third place in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, qualified for this year’s spectacle and also managed to guide them to next year’s World Cup co-hosted in USA, Mexico and Canada.
Broos is beaming with confidence as Bafana moved World Rankings from 75th place to 61st and are currently on an unbeaten run of 25 games.
A lot is expected from the Bafana in this 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations given their previous display in Ivory Coast.
With his full strength 25-man squad, the team is seen as one of the favourites in this tournament.
