Manchester United leadership rejected a strange request from the players after defeat against Fulham
Manchester United suffered a frustrating defeat against Fulham (1:2) last weekend.
According to The Guardian, the Red Devils' players requested an additional day off from the club's management after the match, bypassing head coach Erik ten Hag. The players justified this unusual request by stating that the Dutch coach was overburdening the team.
Reportedly, the United leadership declined to accommodate the players' request, and it was promptly rejected.
Ten Hag is known for his rigorous coaching methods. The Dutchman famously made his players run 13.8 km (8.5 miles) following a defeat against Brentford (0:4) last season, joining them in the punishment.
The defeat to Fulham marked Manchester United's first loss in 2024. The team currently sits in sixth place in the Premier League standings, trailing the Champions League qualification zone by eight points.
