Lyle Foster's winner sends Bafana Bafana into a frenzy as Angola fail to impress in the Africa Cup of Nations Group B opening match
Lyle Foster’s goal saw Bafana Bafana start their Africa Cup of Nations tournament positively with a 2-1 victory.
Foster scored late in the second half to restore Bafana’s lead in the game as the game went into half-time deadlocked at 1-1 at the Stade de Marrakesh Stadium in Morocco.
Oswin Appollis gave Bafana the lead but Shaw equalised for Angola with a cheeky backheel late in the first stanza.
Bafana made a substitute at half time as Mohau Nkota made way for Tshepang Moremi.
Moremi scored a goal but it was denied after VAR consultation.
As the game progressed it looked like the game is headed for a draw but Foster had other ideas.
The England-based striker received the ball from outside the area and simply curled beyond the Angolan goalminder to see Bafana win their opening game in the 35th edition of this year's Afcon.
Bafana next face Egypt in Agadir on Thursday in what is also expected to be a humdinger of a match.
