According to former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah is more likely to quit the team than stay, implying that the club's administration does not value the Egyptian forward enough.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Lovren said: "I have to be careful with what I say because I know a lot of things. Everyone wants Salah to stay, and I do too, but the reality is that I feel he is closer to leaving."

He added: "I called him and told him: 'Mo, you have to think about yourself. Look at everything you've given to this club and what you can still offer'."

Lovren suggested that issues behind the scenes are causing tension, stating that Liverpool do not appreciate Salah as much as they should.

He continued: “If it was Messi or Ronaldo, we would hear about his contract renewal every day. But it seems Salah does not get the same attention.”

No deal has been struck to extend Mohamed Salah's contract with Liverpool, which ends in the summer of 2025. There are reportedly disagreements on the duration and pay of contracts.

Salah, who is 32 years old, is having an incredible season with 26 goals and 18 assists in 34 games. His future at Anfield is still up in the air, though.

With concerns about the future of their star player, Liverpool will play Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday as negotiations continue.
