Leicester to face fresh Premier League financial fair play issues

Despite not currently being a Premier League side, Leicester could still face sanctions for breaching financial fair play—this time from the Premier League itself.
Details: In the 2023-2024 season, Leicester competed in the Championship, where they were found to have violated the English Football League's regulations. A tribunal ruled that there would be no punishment for the 2022-2023 season, but penalties could still apply for the most recent campaign.
The key point is that the Football League has handed over information and the authority to investigate these breaches to the Premier League, which has, in turn, referred the case to an independent commission. In a statement, Leicester declared their intention to "cooperate" with the investigation once the Premier League's jurisdiction is officially established.
Reminder: Previously, the Premier League amended its financial fair play rules, adding a clause that extends these regulations to teams relegated to the Championship. This season, that includes Ipswich, Southampton, and the aforementioned Leicester.
