Legendary Siyabonga Nomvethe expresses full support for Nasreddine Nabi

Amid swirling rumors about Nasreddine Nabi’s dismissal, a legendary African striker has stepped up to defend the Kaizer Chiefs head coach.
Details: Despite clinching the Nedbank Cup, the Chiefs endured a disappointing campaign in the South African Premier League, finishing only ninth with 32 points from 28 matches. Still, their cup triumph secured a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup, offering some solace to the fans and management alike.
Yet speculation regarding Nasreddine Nabi’s future continues to circulate in the media and within the club. Siyabonga Nomvethe—one of the most respected figures in South African football history—has now shared his perspective on the situation.
“Nabi deserves a fair chance, just like any other coach. You can’t work miracles in just one year. Sometimes it takes time for everything to fall into place.
They just need to let him do his job and avoid putting him under unnecessary pressure. We all know everyone wants the league, cups, and all that.
But he’s already started adding to the trophy cabinet, and that’s what matters. Let’s hope that in the upcoming season the silverware keeps coming,” Nomvethe noted.
He also emphasized that the club needs to be effective in the transfer market:
“I hope they make some moves, but sometimes the budget isn’t child’s play. We’re talking millions to sign a player. Still, I just hope we see something happen now, before the new season.”
Siyabonga Nomvethe played for Kaizer Chiefs in the 2001/2002 season before moving to Italian side Udinese.
