Legendary Argentine goalkeeper Hugo Gatti has died


On Sunday, April 20, news broke of the passing of legendary Argentine national team goalkeeper Hugo Gatti.
Details: The South American football legend passed away at the age of 81. Gatti was a three-time Argentine champion, a two-time Copa Libertadores winner, and an Intercontinental Cup champion. He holds the record in the Argentine championship for the most matches played—765 games over 26 seasons.
He played the most matches for Boca Juniors—381 in total. It was with this club that he won all his club-level trophies.
He also played for Atlanta (Buenos Aires), River Plate, Gimnasia (La Plata), and Union Santa Fe. With the Argentine national team, he appeared in 18 matches and was part of the squad for the 1966 World Cup, though he did not take the field.
