Sevilla veteran Jesús Navas, who plays as a right-back, started in today's third group stage match of Euro 2024.

In doing so, Jesús Navas set a unique record. Navas became the oldest player to represent Spain in a World Cup or European Championship match at 38 years and 216 days.

The previous record was held by the legendary former Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares, who played against Saudi Arabia in the 2006 World Cup at the age of 36 years and 248 days.

It is worth noting that the match against Albania holds no competitive significance for Spain, as they have already secured first place in their group. Head coach Luis de la Fuente opted for extensive rotation.

This game marked Jesús Navas's 55th appearance for the Spanish national team. He has scored 5 goals and provided 11 assists.
