Legal action has been taken against Miami Heat basketball player Haywood Highsmith, according to TMZ Sport.

It has been revealed that 21-year-old Alexio Pino lost his leg and suffered multiple injuries as a result of an accident caused by Miami Heat player Haywood Highsmith. The victim alleges that the cause of the incident was the basketball player's reckless driving. Alexio Pino was assisting a motorist who was stranded on the road when he was struck by Highsmith.

Consequently, the victim and his lawyer are seeking compensation for damages, which, according to preliminary estimates, exceed $50,000. According to the police report, Highsmith was driving at a speed of 45 miles per hour (72 km/h) in a zone with a speed limit of 40 miles per hour (64 km/h).

Haywood Highsmith is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Haysmith was born in Baltimore. In college, he played basketball for Villanova University, and in 2018, he became the player of the year in NCAA Division II as a graduate.
