Austria's head coach, Ralf Rangnick, commented on his team's sensational victory in Group D of Euro 2024, which was clinched after their success in the match against the Netherlands (3-2).

"It's incredible to win a group that was the toughest, if you judge by the UEFA rankings. We started with an unfortunate own goal in the match against France, but we managed to handle all the pressure that came with needing to beat Poland. And to end up winning the group - that's something special.

I believe we ultimately deserved the victory. Overall, we had a great will to win and incredible commitment on the field. You could feel it at every stage of the game - in how we reacted to conceding goals and how we didn't buckle under pressure but stayed true to our style, constantly seeking our chances by going on the attack," the coach was quoted by UEFA.

Austria won the group with 6 points after their victory over the Netherlands, with France finishing second (5 points). The Netherlands were third with 4 points.
