Infantino proposed a revolution in transfer negotiations between clubs
As it is known, currently the price for a player is determined through negotiations between clubs, but FIFA President Gianni Infantino has proposed a change to this system.
Quoting the head of world football at the annual FIFA Legal Conference in Tokyo, as reported by Sky Sports, Infantino suggested replacing negotiations with algorithms to determine player values, which would be created by computers:
"Now, more than ever, it is important for us to discuss these and other topics. For example, to discuss the possibility of using an algorithm to assess the fair value of transfers, to increase transparency in the transfer system and assist football stakeholders."
The most recent significant innovation in football transfers has been the introduction of Financial Fair Play, which prevents clubs from spending more than they earn.
Recently, Everton has been notably affected by this rule, having already had 10 points deducted in the current Premier League season, with the possibility of more penalties.
