UEFA insists that all requirements for earning 5 stars must be strictly observed.

Fenerbahce had planned to take the pitch for their Europa League clash against Nottingham Forest with five stars above their emblem. However, following UEFA's ban, the Istanbul club was forced to redesign their kit.
In Turkey, one gold star above the crest is awarded for every five league titles. Fenerbahce currently have 19 league triumphs, but the club insists they deserve five stars, citing their victories in earlier versions of the national championship.
At the moment, Fenerbahce sit second in the Turkish Super Lig, trailing leaders Galatasaray by just three points.
