Hugo Broos is taken by Relebohile Mofokeng’s football brilliance and genius that he could not afford to leave him for Africa Cup of Nations
Hugo Broos cannot hiding his admiration of Relebohile Mofokeng.
The Bafana Bafana coach surprised many when he included Mofokeng who has not been his best this season, with the player spending more time in the medical room than on the pitch.
Broos yesterday named his 25-man Bafana squad to do duty in Morocco this month in the Africa Cup of Nations edition.
“About Relebohile, I like him as a player. He’s a very good player, he’s a very talented player. Had a few problems now in the past week with an injury, so I was very happy to see him play again with Pirates, and that’s why I didn’t doubt one second to take him with the selection.”
Mofokeng spent the entire month of October on the side-lines for the Sea Robbers only to return at the start of November.
Few glimpses of brilliance in the matches he played upon return convinced Broos that he should be on the flight to Morocco.
