On June 6 in Paris, the Roland-Garros women's singles final took place. The decisive match saw Maja Chwalinska face off against Mirra Andreeva.

The Polish player, ranked 114th in the world, put up a fight against her 19-year-old opponent only in the opening set, which ended 6-3. In the second set, Andreeva capitalized on her momentum, conceding just two games to her rival — 6-2.

Mirra Andreeva has become the third youngest women's singles Grand Slam champion of the 21st century. Only Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon 2004 and Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open claimed their titles at a younger age.

It's worth noting that this triumph is the biggest achievement of Andreeva's career, as she claimed her maiden Grand Slam title. Previously, her best result at Roland-Garros was a semifinal appearance in 2024.
