PSG beats Juventus in the race for dream goalkeeper

Details: PSG has submitted an official offer to Parma for Japanese keeper Zion Suzuki - the total package is €33 million. The Italian club is ready to move forward with the deal.
This move puts the Parisians ahead in the battle with Juventus, who have also been tracking the 23-year-old Japanese talent for some time. The Turin club held talks with Parma, but it was the French side who tabled the first official bid - and that could prove decisive.
PSG also gave Suzuki a detailed presentation of their project. The club explained his role and prospects, which are closely tied to the future of Lucas Chevalier. The Frenchman, signed from Lille for €40 million in the summer of 2025, lost the competition to Matvey Safonov, and his departure opens the door for Suzuki to claim the starting spot.
Interest in Suzuki skyrocketed after the 2026 World Cup, where he emerged as one of the tournament’s biggest revelations in the Japan national team. In addition to Paris and Turin, Premier League clubs have also been monitoring the goalkeeper.
It’s worth noting that Suzuki’s contract with Parma runs until 2029, and Transfermarkt values the goalkeeper at €20 million—meaning PSG’s offer is significantly above his market value. In the 2025/26 Serie A season, the Japanese keeper played 20 matches, conceded 28 goals, and kept five clean sheets.
