The Haas team was quick to reassure fans following a frightening incident on lap 22 of the Japanese Grand Prix. The 20-year-old British driver Ollie Bearman was involved in a collision at a speed of 225 km/h (140 mph) as he tried to overtake Franco Colapinto at the iconic Spoon Curve. Losing control of his car, Ollie slid onto the grass, took out distance boards, and crashed sideways into the barriers.
Details: Although Bearman exited the cockpit on his own, broadcast footage showed him limping heavily as he left the scene of the crash.

After a thorough examination at the medical center and an X-ray, Haas shared encouraging news on their social media:
“Ollie reported that he’s okay, and no fractures were found as a result of the crash.”
An official team spokesperson added that the driver is conscious and actively communicating with staff.
Nevertheless, the crash did leave its mark—Bearman was diagnosed with a severe bruise to his right knee. Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu described the incident as truly frightening on Sky Sports.
