Ghana Premier League: FIFA Lift Transfer Ban on Karela United After Sana Camara Payment Dispute Resolved
FIFA has officially lifted the transfer ban imposed on Ghana Premier League side Karela United after the club settled its outstanding payment dispute with former player Sana Camara.
The decision was confirmed in a letter dated August 20, 2026, from FIFA’s Head of Disciplinary, Americo Espallargas. The governing body confirmed that the disciplinary proceedings against Karela United had been closed after Camara acknowledged receiving the money owed to him.
The dispute stemmed from an earlier FIFA ruling in favour of Camara, which resulted in Karela United being banned from registering new players until the outstanding payment was settled.
FIFA has now confirmed that the club fulfilled its financial obligations under the original decision, bringing the matter to an end.
"The present proceedings against the Respondent are hereby closed, and its ban on registering any new players has been permanently lifted," the governing body said in its letter.
Karela United have confirmed the lift of the ban on the team, as the lifting of the ban means Karela United can now register new players
