Former Durban City coach Gavin Hunt is announced as Steve Barker's replacement at Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC

Gavin Hunt has replaced Steve Barker as Stellenbosch FC coach.

The former SuperSport United, Kaizer Chiefs and Durban City gaffer has been announced by the winelands side today.

Hunt’s arrival at Stellies signals a new era for the Betway Premiership side as Barker had spent almost a decade at the Cape side.

He left PSL newcomers Durban City last month after a string of poor results having managed to stabilise the side to a seventh spot on the standings.

That Durban City are in a healthy position in the PSL did not seem to signal that Hunt may be shown the door at the club.

His frosty relationship with Ernst Middendorp at Durban City was the source of his departure as their ideas clashed.

Hunt has since been replaced by Sinethemba Badela who was announced last Saturday.
