Tshepang Moremi should be deployed as a number 10 in the Bafana Bafana starting line-up with Oswin Appolliss and Relebohile Mofokeng coming from the wings.

This is the view of former Kaizer Chiefs coach Farouk Khan.

“Up front, I would change a little bit. I would move Tshepang Moremi into the 10 position. Play Oswin Appollis on the right and play Rele Mofokeng on the left, and Lyle Foster up front,” Khan said on Soccer Beat.

Khan’s wisdom is from the fact that Moremi was a thorn for the Egyptian defence in Friday’s 1-0 loss in their second Group B game.

And his plan is for the match against Zimbabwe tomorrow where Bafana are expected to win or at least earn a draw to go into the last 16 stage of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

“I don’t want to lose out too much because I can make a lot of changes. If you look at Moremi coming from wide, the Egyptians could not deal with him. They could not contain him with his pace. Can you imagine Moremi coming down the middle? Combining with Foster, Appollis and Rele. That could be a dream if it worked,” Khan said.

“It is an experiment, you can experiment at this stage. If you need to make changes, you have sufficient players on the bench. We have got to think a little out of the box. We are thinking too pragmatically at times.”
