What was previously thought by the media as unattainable in 2024 will become a reality in the near future.

As reported by David Orstein, Manchester United and Newcastle have reached a consensus on a move to Old Trafford for Dan Ashworth, who will take up the position of sporting director at the Manchester club.

It is believed that the 53-year-old functionary will take up his duties at Manchester United immediately after accepting the position.

Recall, earlier the issue of Ashworth's transfer was a stumbling block between the clubs, and Newcastle balked at the issue of compensation for the specialist in the region of 20 million pounds because of what the boss of the "red devils" Sir Jim Ratcliffe called the leaders of Newcastle "stupid".

"Magpies" sent Ashworth on "gardening leave", in response to which the functionary himself was ready to file an arbitration tribunal against Newcastle, in which he would be supported by Manchester United.
