Man United boss calls Newcastle 'stupid' over Ashworth move
Manchester United and Newcastle are still unable to settle sporting director Dan Ashworth's move to Old Trafford. "Magpies" are demanding £20 million compensation from the club, which has literally infuriated new Mancunian boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ratcliffe responded to such a sum by calling Newcastle "silly", "stupid" and "absurd", stating that he would not pay that kind of money for Ashworth. The Mancunians didn't want to go for a 50% discount.
The fact that for the transfer of the 53-year-old specialist to Newcastle from Brighton in 2022, the Magpies, as stated, paid four million pounds, but in reality this amount was an order of magnitude less. Because of the string of work and money that was paid in Manchester United call the financial demands of Newcastle unrealistic.
It is worth recalling earlier we reported when at Old Trafford can expect Ashworth if the club does not pay compensation.
