Elite One: Union SA snatch a draw against Aigle Moungo

The two clubs played out a 1-1 draw at the Melong Municipal Stadium following a hard-fought match on matchday four.

Playing in front of their home crowd, the Aigle Moungo players were hoping to secure a second win of the season to climb the table. However, they were held to a draw by a Union SA side determined to secure their first victory in the Cameroonian top flight.

The home side managed to take the lead thanks to Damien Manga. He found the back of the net in the 7th minute following an assist from Nga, putting Aigle Royal ahead.

But Union SA did not give up. Issa Ahmadou scored the equaliser in the 71st minute for the visitors, who thus avoided another defeat.

With this result, Aigle Moungo now have four points, with one win, one draw and two defeats, and are provisionally in eighth place. Meanwhile, newly promoted Union SA have two draws and two defeats.

Still searching for their first win, they are provisionally in twelfth place in the table. With their current league record, Union SA must find the resources needed to get their season going.
