AS Nylon, Christian Kofane’s youth club, win their FIFA case against Albacete
AS Nylon has secured an important victory in the case concerning the financial benefits arising from Christian Kofane’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.
According to the Cameroonian press, the Cameroonian youth academy has won its case before FIFA in the dispute with Albacete, the Cameroonian international’s former club, regarding its share of the transfer fee. According to the ruling by world football’s governing body, the Spanish club must pay AS Nylon 20 per cent of the transfer fee for Christian Kofane’s move to Bayer Leverkusen, estimated at 5 million euros. This share amounts to nearly one million euros.
This is a considerable sum for the Cameroonian club, which will thus be able to benefit directly from the striker’s progress and his transfer to the German club. FIFA has granted Albacete 45 days to fulfil this financial obligation. The Spanish club has also been handed a transfer ban for this period.
This decision marks a major step forward for AS Nylon in its efforts to secure the financial benefits associated with Christian Kofane’s career.
