Elite One: Colombe Sportive v PWD Bamenda suspended, here is what happened
The third matchday of the Cameroonian league was marked by an unusual incident at the Military Stadium.
The match between Colombe Sportive and PWD Bamenda was temporarily halted in the 65th minute due to a lighting failure. However, the issue was eventually resolved and both teams were able to return to the pitch to finish the match.
Colombe Sportive, the reigning Elite One champions, got the better of PWD Bamenda (2–0). Ghanaian striker Adam Musah opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before Kebin Ndzana sealed the victory for the Southern Bird late in the match.
This victory marks a winning start to the league campaign for Richard Towa’s side this season. In their first match of the 2026–2027 season, Colombe Sportive have thus made a successful start by securing three valuable points.
The Southern Bird had not yet played any of their league matches this season due to their involvement in the CAF Champions League. But the defending champions have now kicked off their domestic campaign whilst awaiting their entry into the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
