Devin Titus signs long term deal with Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC to fend off potential suitors as the versatile player is in demand
Devin Titus has been tied on a long term contract by Stellenbosch FC.
The Betway Premiership side, third from the bottom on the standings, has moved swiftly to hand Titus a long term deal to fend off potential suitors who could sign him on a free.
Titus’ current deal expires in June and he is able to sign a pre-contract with any club but that has been scuppered by his contract renewal at the Cape Winelands club.
“Stellenbosch FC is pleased to confirm that Devin Titus has signed a new long-term contract with the Club,” the club announced via a statement.
“Titus, who has made more than 150 appearances for Stellenbosch, is set to extend his stay in the Cape Winelands after putting pen to paper on a contract extension earlier this week.”
Titus has been a subject of a move away from the Stellies with teams from North Africa mentioned as his possible destination.
The midfielder-cum striker has also expressed excitement at his renewed deal.
“Stellenbosch FC is the Club that gave me an opportunity to follow my dream of becoming a professional footballer, so I’m very happy to have signed a new contract here,” Titus said.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the Club and all the coaches, staff, and players who have given me this platform to showcase my talent, and hopefully, there is even more to come in the next few years.”
Stellies will be away to Sekhukhune United upon the PSL return from the Afcon break.
