American tennis player Danielle Rose Collins (WTA 22) emerged as the champion of the clay-court WTA 500 tournament in Charleston, USA.

In the final match, she faced the neutral player Daria Kasatkina (WTA 11) from Russia. There wasn't much of a contest as Collins confidently dealt with her opponent in straight sets. Kasatkina failed to hold her serve in the first set, eventually conceding it 2-6. The second set saw Collins dominate without much resistance, securing it with a score of 6-1.

Charleston. Clay. Final
Daria Kasatkina (11) — Danielle Rose Collins (USA, 22) — 2:6, 1:6.

This marked the fourth meeting between the two players, now tied at 2-2. It's worth noting that this victory for Collins is her second consecutive title on the WTA tour. Last weekend, the American triumphed at the prestigious hard-court tournament in Miami. Interestingly, this season will be the final one for the 30-year-old Danielle, who announced her retirement before the Australian Open. She becomes the first player to win the Miami and Charleston title in the same year since Serena Williams in 2013.
