Cedric Kaze on Nkanyiso Shinga long waited Kaizer Chiefs debut: He is new in the PSL and we needed the right moment to introduce him
Nkanyiso Shinga’s lack of PSL experience has delayed his Kaizer Chiefs debut.
The left-back played his maiden game for Amakhosi last night in the 1-0 loss to Richards Bay at a sold out Umhlathuze Sports Complex.
Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze said Shinga’s debut came eight months later because he is new in the PSL and needed the right moment to earn his first Chiefs starts.
“He’s a new player in the country, he’s a player that has not played in the PSL,” he stated after the match.
“He needs to train well to get used to the league, to get used to his teammates too, we thought it was the right moment to introduce him.”
His maiden game for the Naturena-based side lasted until the 82nd minuteas he was taken off with in injury.
Kaze said he is yet to know the extent of the injuy.
“I haven’t spoken to the medical stuff, we’re going to assess him tonight and tomorrow morning we’re going to see the extend of the injury,” he added.
