Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster: We did well to win our game against Angola in our opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations
Lyle Foster expressed delight at netting Bafana Bafana’s winning goal against Angola in their opening Africa Cup of Nations match.
The Burnley forward received a pass from Tshepang Moremi and he hit it with his second touch from outside the box to see Bafana win 2-1 against the Palancas Negras.
Foster also earned the Man of the Match award at the Stade de Marrakesh in Morocco.
“The chance before, I think I hesitated a little bit with the pressure coming out," Foster said.
"Obviously, with the second one, I think we did well to win the ball back again and got the ball at my feet. I wanted to score, so I just told myself to put it there. Thank God the luck was on my side. I think we just have to keep trying. Not every goal is going to go in, but one or two will, so we just have to keep shooting."
